WHEN DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
Newborns are typically photographed between 5-21 days old. I photograph newborns up to eight weeks old, though they may not be asleep for the session. After two weeks of age, babies are more likely to be disturbed while sleeping, sleep for shorter periods of time, and poses will need to be modified from the typical squishy baby poses.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
You can book as soon as you find out you’re pregnant! But I recommend booking in the middle of your 2nd trimester or the beginning of your 3rd trimester. I’ll use your due date as your slated session date, but once you deliver, you will need to contact me to schedule your exact session date and time.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE SESSION?
Besides your newborn, of course, bring extra diapers, wipes, formula if you are not breastfeeding, and a pacifier. Even if your newborn doesn’t quite take a pacifier yet, one can be very helpful to keep your baby asleep and/or calm as I transition them. I have a wide variety of beautiful props available for use, though you may provide a prop that is special or a family heirloom if you would like it incorporated. I use a space heater to keep baby’s body temperature warm throughout the shoot, leaving the room quite warm. Make sure you wear something light or layers that can be easily peeled off! If you are bringing a sibling with you, please bring something to keep them busy during the entire session.
WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
I have a home studio located just outside of Fort Worth in White Settlement, TX, but I also am available to travel to your home in the DFW area and set up my studio for a travel fee with limited props. Sessions are scheduled during the week. If you would like the weekend, there is a $25 fee when available.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY GALLERY?
For every newborn photography package, you will be emailed a password-protected gallery for you to view your images within two weeks of your session date. Want your images sooner? You can choose to have your images ready in 48 hours for an additional fee.
